Natural Remedies To Lighten Your Dark Underarms

Each time you go to your favourite store to pick up a new outfit, you see those sleeveless or strappy dresses that you wish you could buy for yourself. However it’s not your figure that stops you wearing those cut sleeves outfits but the dark pigmentation of your underarms that just doesn’t allow you to go sleeveless. Due to use of wrong cosmetics, deodorants, shaving or certain medications our underarms get susceptible to pigmentation, which makes them appear dark in colour. Potato Juice

Potatoes are packed with enzymes that help to lighten your underarms. The starch content of potato helps to reduce the dark pigmentation and smoothen out the skin of your underarms. To use, peel and slice a potato and rub the slices gently on your underarms. Alternatively you can grate the potato and squeeze the juice from its pulp. Dip a cotton ball in this juice and apply it your underarms. This remedy is effective for your under eyes as well.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a natural exfoliator that removes dead skin cells, unclogs skin pores and lightens underarms. The anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties of baking soda make it safe to use on your skin. Mix I tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and apply it on your underarms. Leave it on your skin till it dries off and wash it off with lukewarm water. Apply moisturiser. In case you have any cuts or wounds on your underarms, then do not use this remedy as baking soda causes burning sensation.

Cucumber & Lemon

Cucumbers and lemons are known for their skin lightening properties. Rub lemon or cucumber slices on your underarms. Let your skin dry for 5 minutes and then rinse well and apply moisturiser on your underarms. You can also squeeze juice of 1 lemon and mix it with cucumber juice and then apply on your underarms to reduce pigmentation.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is rich in Vitamin E which helps to lighten the discolouration in underarms. Gently rub coconut oil on your underarms and leave it on skin for 30 minutes. Rinse well and apply moisturiser. This trick will also deodorise your underarms naturally.

Orange Peel Powder

Dry orange peels in sun for 1 to 2 until completely dry. Grind them to form powder. Mix 1 tablespoon of this powder with milk or rosewater to form thick paste. Apply the paste on your underarms and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and apply moisturiser. Follow this remedy for few days to see a noticeable difference. Additionally make sure you do not use any hair removing creams, avoid shaving and do use deodorant on your under arms. Avoid applying any perfume directly on your underarms to prevent discolouration. Keep your weight in check and avoid direct contact with sun.
